Privacy policy: “Add to kindergarten” extension
A Chrome extension for the staff of “Karlygash” kindergarten: it adds images from the web to the kindergarten website and opens the admin assistant in the side panel.
Who uses it
The extension is for kindergarten staff who have an account in the website admin. Parents and site visitors do not need it.
What data is processed
The kindergarten website address you enter when connecting, an access key (issued by the admin after you sign in), your name and role in the admin.
When you choose “Add to kindergarten” on an image: the image address, the address of the page where it was found, and what you type into the form (captions, dish name, author and license). The image itself is uploaded to the kindergarten website.
Messages you write to the assistant in the side panel and your “Yes/No” answers to its proposals.
Where it is sent
Only to the kindergarten website you connected the extension to (for this kindergarten: karlygashastana.edu.kz). The assistant on that website may use a language model to answer, the same as in the admin itself.
The kindergarten server first tries to download the image by its address. If it cannot, the extension downloads that single address itself, after you allow it, and sends it to the kindergarten website.
The extension does not send data to its developer, advertisers, analytics or any other third parties.
What is not collected
Browsing history, contents of pages you did not choose, passwords, form data on other websites, location. The extension never sees your admin password: you sign in on the kindergarten website.
Storage
The website address and access key are kept in the extension storage on your computer (chrome.storage). An image waiting to be added is kept only until the browser is closed.
The kindergarten website keeps what you added (photos, dishes, assistant conversations) and a record of the connected extension, under the same rules as the rest of the admin data.
Permissions
Site access: only your kindergarten website (requested when connecting) and, with your permission, the website of a particular image if the server could not download it.
Context menu: the “Add to kindergarten” item on images; side panel: the assistant and the form; storage: the website address and key; identity: the sign-in window through the admin.
How to disconnect and delete data
In the extension: “Disconnect” in the side panel revokes and deletes the key and gives back the site access.
In the admin: Profile → Chrome extension → Disconnect. The key also stops working after “Sign out everywhere”, a password change or account blocking.
To remove the extension: chrome://extensions → Remove. Added photos and dishes can be deleted in the website admin.
